Marion County Farm Bureau
Scholarship Recipients
Mark Prieb of Hillsboro High School and Kristen Waner
of Marion High School are Marion County Farm Bureau's 2008 Scholarship Award
winners. Both will be attending Kansas State University in the fall.
Mark is majoring in Industrial Engineering and Kristen in Chemical Engineering.

These scholarships are established to show Marion County Farm Bureau's interest in our youth and the importance of education.

Carbon Credit Program available to FB
Members
KFB is the newest contract facilitator for AgraGate
Climate Credits Corp., a subsidiary of the Iowa Farm Bureau and the leading
aggregator of carbon credits from agriculture. Producers can enroll in the
program beginning now. Farmers with no-tillage or strip-tillage practices
or those with new grass plantings since 1999 are eligible to participate.
There also are programs for forestry and riparian buffer strips and agricultural
methane. KFB will conduct meetings in February and March throughout

The goal of this page is to increase member awareness
of the growing threat that animal activists and their agenda pose and to assist

actively participating in the
implementation of priority issues involving agriculture education, improving the
quality of life in rural communities, promotion of the industry and agricultural
advocacy? Then we want you to hold a seat on the Marion County Farm Bureau
Board of Directors as the county Women's Chair! This board position is
annual and voted on each year at the annual meeting of members. Call our

$1 million saved in 2007

Young Farmers & Ranchers
Leadership Conference
Another record attendance at this years YF&R
Leadership Conference! The conference was held in Wichita at the Hyatt
Regency January 22-24, 2008. There were approximately 422 people
registered for the conference which breaks last years record of 300.
Conference attendee's enjoyed a variety of workshops and speakers.

directly to lawmakers on Capitol Hill during the 2008 Kansas Farm Bureau
County Presidents Trip to Washington, D.C., March 9-13. Members pushed for
key Farm Bureau issues including federal transportation, farm bill, animal
welfare and water. |
